Although I have only made two knifes to completion but I have enjoyed making them both so much that I'm sure many more will follow. Knife making involves two of my favourite crafts; woodworking and leathercraft (knife sheaves) and metal work has always intrigued me and I very much enjoy learning about its many processes.
From an ugly, cheap "wrecking chisel" with fake pomel. I have made an extremely useful chisel knife. This has an incredibly ergonomic Elm handle with an exposed tang just incase it ever does need slight tap. It is an incredibly versitile tool and is never out of reach while I'm working. Although bade is recycled and not made from scratch I am happy with the modifications I made to it before putting the new handle on. Photos of it's sheath will be uploaded when that project is completed.
This little knife was the first knife that I've made entirely from scratch including heat treating. It was a very welcome addition to my stitching kit and is well used. The make-do forge I used would be inadequate for any bigger projects so I will make one to allow me to experiment more with metalwork.
